Spanish Police Officers Wade Through Frozen Lake To Save A Dog Trapped In Icy Waters

The incident happened in Aragon, eastern Spain, when the dog was trapped for hours in a reservoir in Canfranc. The dog and his handler were walking along the stream when the animal ventured onto the ice. Under his weight, a thin layer gave way and he ended up in the ice water.

His handler had to call the police to get help. After the two policemen arrived, the dog swam in the water for about 20 minutes, which is quite a long time. Trapped between several blocks of ice, he tries to climb the iceberg but fails, he gradually becomes exhausted.

Rescuing the dog was no easy task: the reservoir was frozen and they had to take off their shirts to wade through the frigid waters. An officer used a wooden stick to keep his balance and break the ice on the water. The other officer waded behind to help bring the dog to shore.
The officers who rescued the dog were praised for their brave actions. This is a great rescue! Please share this story with your family and friends.
