Unlike most Insta-famous animals, the Minsk-based Yana is popular thanks to a ɢᴇɴᴇᴛɪᴄ ᴀʙɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟɪᴛʏ. Yana owes her striking two-tone fur to a genetic anomaly called ᴄʜɪᴍᴇʀɪsᴍ. She has ᴄᴇʟʟsfrom different ᴢʏɢᴏᴛᴇs that lent her the unique fur color that sets her apart from all other cats. While there is nothing uncommon about the fur that covers her physique, the charming calico true cat’s human face is a distinct story. Divided seemingly straight down the center, one facet of her visage is a placing orangish, patch the opposite is a stark dark, she nearly appears similar 2 cats in one!
Her owner Elizabeth, an architect and design student from Orsha, Belarus, who studies at the National Technical University in Minsk, mentioned that not only does Yana has unique fur, she is quite a character as well. She loves to play catch, she drinks tea, and is fascinated by art. Yan is nothing less than a one-of-a-kind cat. Not only that but she’s also become an internet star with over 16k followers on Instagram! We’re not really surprised though. How could you not love that face?
