Kitten So Thankful When Woman Comes to His Aid, He Scoots Around and Purrs Nonstop
Caroline Grace, founder of Baby Kitten Rescue (in Los Angeles), received a plea from a partner shelter about a 5-week-old kitten with hind limb ᴘᴀʀᴀʟʏsɪs. The kitten, named Archie, was in dire need of care and Caroline said, “We didn’t hesitate to answer our pleas and agreed to adopt the kitten.”
Caroline first brought Archie home when he was a baby and he was ᴛᴇʀʀɪꜰɪᴇᴅ. Beneath his silky fur lay skin and bones, covered with fleas. Caroline began supportive care for this kitten, and removed all nasty fleas, giving her a clean bath and soaking.
Archie was scared at first and kept hiding under all of his blankets. He cried a lot for the first hour, but then he started to realize he was safe in this place. The kitten finally relaxed and took a long nap on the soft bed with a full stomach. He feels grateful to be cared for and quickly fills the room with his cooing purrs.
After getting out of the warm bed, Archie started playing and Caroline noticed he had some movement in his legs after using the litter box independently. She took Archie to the doctor the next day and everyone loved him. Archie’s x-ray showed he had a birth ᴅᴇꜰᴇᴄᴛ in his spine. The condition left him weak and reduced mobility in his hind legs.
With love for Archie, Caroline consulted her doctor to do everything to give him the best chance of living an easy, happy life. After careful discussion, Archie began receiving daily physiotherapy exercises at home and weekly acupuncture sessions at the therapist. He has become a lot happier. Archie couldn’t help but enjoy running around the room chasing toys.
One day, Pat, a speech language pathologist, came across Archie on Instagram and fell in love with him. Pat has finally decided to adopt Archie and wants to continue the therapies to help him. Now, the kitten is roaming around in a place of his own, playing with his new furry siblings and climbing on everything he can get his foot on. So glad that Archie has found a wonderful home, an owner who loves him and helps him have the best life possible.
