Dogs and wolves share a common ancestor in an extinct wolf lineage that lived thousands of years ago. And though wolves may look big and scary, if you manage to form a strong bond with them, they are just huge fluffy dogs. And they are also capable of making friends with almost anyone.
Smokey is a 127-pound Wolf hybrid. Charlie is a 10-week-old German Shepherd puppy weighing in at only 20 pounds. You would think the wolf hybrid would be too big to play safely with a tiny puppy, but you would be wrong!
The two animals got along well. Soon, Charlie and Smokey had formed their own little pack. But of course, a big part of their friendship was play fighting.
With a much larger weight, the dog Charlie is not afraid to play with Smokey and Smokey is as gentle as possible with the tiny puppy.
One day, Charlie’s owner decided to record one of the dogs’ play fights. The footage sure is something.
For the first couple of minutes, the dogs nip back and forth as they lie next to each other.
A little later, Charlie went back up to Smokey for some more tussling. Both of the animals were more energetic this time around.
Eventually, Smokey lay down, and Charlie kept on rushing in until he was worn out.
